Silya

Once upon a time in a land-oh-so far away, there was born a girl named Silya who dreamed of city lights and music. She was born unto the land of Norway where she fell in love with the music, the sets, the dance, old Hollywood, New York, Broadway, and America. Fueled by three number one hits in Norway, Silya made her way across the Atlantic to work with producers such as Cee-lo (Gnarls Barkley), Printz Board (Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray), Lester Mendez (Shakira, Nelly Furtado), J.R. Rotem (Rihanna), and Mark Hill (Craig David, Artful Dodger).

Silya is all about energy, soul, and contrasts. She blends the best of modern pop, soul, funk, and rock with her unique powerhouse vocals and quirky lyrical genius. Silya became a successful musical sous chef, cooking up songs for other artists, including 2 singles that went gold internationally, and several hits for other pop artists such as Vanessa Hudgens. She is now the head chef of her own main dish, an album titled, “Peel Away.” It’s a semi-live organic soulful stew of old and new Silya songs marinating in the inspirations of Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Bjork, Edith Piaf, and Mike Patton. An army of flapperinas led by Mae West serve the dish with a dash of sultry sophistication.
